Puntroad.com will be back for season 2010. Having come back from the Christmas break big, bloated and blowing like Sam Kekovich after a short walk to the letterbox, we’ll be around and about giving long suffering Tiger fans a place for respite from the weekly carnage our club will no doubt be inflicting upon us this year.

Now maybe I’m wrong, maybe Coach Hardwick has all the answers in his manilla folder marked “Hawthorn – rejected ideas”. Maybe Brendon Lade can bring some of that Port Adelaide sophisticamakation and consistency to the ruck department. Maybe, just maybe Brett Delidio will pull his finger out and become the Next James Hird we all hoped he would be. Certainly Jordan McMahon will take on the mantle of most hands-in-head annoying footballer at Punt Road.

Yes, maybe I’m wrong but I do see a future with far too many 80-90 point thrashings. I see press conferences with Coach Hardwick hissing through his teeth in barely concealed loathing at a journalists who dare ask questions that might, you know, hit the spot, rather than missing the point.

And speaking of missing the point, what of Richo? I dunno. He hasn’t phoned, emailed, blogged or twittered me lately. Maybe he is seeking a path of enlightenment. Maybe his is touring with the Meanies. Maybe he is writting a very harsh note to the State G’ment about the Tote closing. Doesn’t matter really. We need to face a Tiger future without the big fella on the ground, but I suspect that we will the big fella about the club. And you won’t be able to turn the telly on with out seeing him next to Leigh Matthews and Bruce McAvaney.
